Exceeding Expectations at Brays Island

Tray Maltby, IGM Golf Course Superintendent at Brays Island Plantation in Sheldon, South Carolina recently completed the most stressful event for most superintendents short of a televised tournament. Earlier this month, the private club’s annual Member-Guest was a complete success. In a recent communication Director of Golf, Mike Ingram shared his opinion.

“I want to thank your staff for a job well done with last week's Member-Guest Tournament. The golf course played perfectly and was in great condition. I congratulate you and your team's efforts in dealing with so many unforeseen circumstances these past couple of months. Your steadfast hard work and desire to produce the best possible product was evident with your staff and the leadership they received....truly, the place never looked better! The Golf Staff and Owners are very fortunate to have such great support in making this event a huge success!”

Tray is also pleased with the great course conditions “It is rewarding to get such great feedback and to know that our hard work has not gone unnoticed"

The successes at Brays Island are just one example of the results that can be achieved when courses of all types partner with IGM. Rounds 4 Research Golf Auction

IGM announces its support of Rounds 4 Research. This auction offers an innovative online auction of golf rounds at over 550 courses to raise money for turfgrass research.

Secure a rare chance to tee it up at some of the best known and most exclusive golf clubs in the game in an innovative online auction that runs April 7 to April 21.

More than 550 courses from the Carolinas, Georgia, Virginia, Texas and Nevada will be available for bid as the golf industry rallies to raise money for turfgrass research.

Some of the game’s greatest venues are ready to welcome your foursome if you post the winning bid. Go to http://www.rounds4research.com/ and view an updated list of courses on offer and register to receive a reminder email in the hours before the auction launch.

That list will grow right up to auction time but already high profile partners include:

• East Lake Golf Club – home of the PGA Tour Championship,
• Pinehurst No. 2 – which hosts its third U.S. Open Championship in 2014,
• Harbour Town Golf Links – home of the PGA Tour’s Verizon Heritage Classic,
• The Ocean Course at Kiawah – host of 1991 Ryder Cup and PGA Championship in 2012,
• Sedgefield Country Club - Home of the PGA Tour’s Wyndham Championship.

Exclusive private playgrounds ranked by Golf Digest among the 100 absolute best courses in the country include Sage Valley, Long Cove, Eagle Point, Yeaman’s Hall, Newport Dunes and The Homestead’s Cascades Course.

In each region, proceeds will benefit research critical to the continued health of our great game and the billions of dollars in economic impact it generates in the participating states.

IGM Community Participation

We believe strongly in participating in the communities in which we live and work. In ways large and small, IGM and our team members regularly contribute in a wide variety of ways.

Recently, IGM at SilverStone initiated support of the nearby Shadow Ridge High School Baseball Program. "We greatly appreciate your time and assistance in helping us create an environment for our students that reflects pride and tradition." said head coach Frank Tousa.

"Giving back to the community is personally and professionally rewarding. Donations of time and money to worthy causes underscore our community philosophy here at IGM." commented Robert Diebold, IGM's West Coast Regional Manager. "We encourage everyone to be active in an area of the local community that is important to them."

Would you like to highlight a team member's accomplishment in your community or spread the word about opportunities and encourage others. Email your information to blog@igminc.net.
