IGM at Sebastian Greens Recovery Well Underway

Back in September, wild hogs created extensive damage to several greens while foraging for food. IGM Golf Course Superintendent Sean Gillen and his staff have spent many hours nurturing the damaged areas back to life. After replacing the damaged turf much like a jigsaw puzzle, a program was put in place to restore the surface to putting quality.

The current restoration program includes a reduced mowing schedule, regular hand topdressing and leveling as well as weekly supplemental fertilization. "Core sampling shows many new white roots with a consistent rooting depth of over 3 inches" commented Sean. "We have not yet achieved the putting green quality we expect but have made good progress".

IGM Welcomes Chris Parsons

It is our pleasure to welcome Chris Parsons as the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent for IGM at ViewPoint Golf Resort in Mesa, Arizona. Chris has gained experience in both the midwest and southwest, most recently at Desert Forest Golf Club ranked in Golf Magazine's Top 50 in the country. He is a past recipient of the GCSAA Scholars Award and a graduate of Michigan State University. (We won't hold that against him.)

"Chris brings over 15 years of experience to our team. His experience, agronomic knowledge, hands-on management style and customer service skills have already shown to be great assets to the operation." said Tyler Minamyer, IGM Regional Manager.
